I honestly loved it. I get that it’s made for me since I’m an awkward teenage girl, but I loved it. The relationship between Meilin and her mom was fantastic, that animation is so crazy unique and expressive. I was honestly super shocked to see the response to this movie so mixed. The only part I didn’t like was the concert panda fight, but even then I understand what it’s trying to do, I’m just not a big action fan. Loved it, honestly really refreshing and I hope they make more like it.

I liked it, I liked it a lot. Especially how this film can utilize intentional camp like the "My House" on her mug or the circle of knives in the study.

it was good as its own show and book, personally I think peoples hate for it comes from both placing it next to the Harry Potter books and not actually remembering them. they say this is untrue to the series and shouldn't be considered canon but the series their remembering is coated in a whole lot of nostalgia.
