Raymond Francis McAteer

I haven't seen this movie since it's theatrical release in November of 2007. This film, helmed by Frank Darabont of Shawshank Redemption (also a Stephen King story) has a stellar cast and solid performances throughout. This film has stayed with me since I had seen it on the big screen Currently I am watching this on AMC with commercials and I can't help but be reminded of the visceral punch when I had seen it all those years ago. I highly recommend it that anyone should watch this in a darkened room and not have the kiddies about. This is an adults horror movie. Intelligent and well produced with good acting throughout and an end that you would never see coming. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I have seen this several times over the years and honestly, it's one of those rare films that just gets better with each viewing. Strong performances from Jodie Foster, Matthew McConnoghey, James Woods, Angela Bassett, actually everyone delivers fine supporting under Zemeckis' direction. It's thoughtful and generous with regards to Sagan's novel, which I have read a number many times as well. It's an underrated gem.

I am watching Aquaman now on TNT and while I have not seen it on the big screen in the theater I have watched this a few times and each time is a veritable feast for the eyes. James Wan, who has helmed some of the best and most successful horror movies has brought a true Tour de Force. Visually the movie and the entire production is fantastic. The acting is pretty solid. Jason Momoa is perfect as Arthur Curry/Aquaman. He brings a strong charisma to the role and he is a delight to watch and while, I am not particularly a fan of Amber Heard she is pretty damn good too. There's a chemistry between the two that feels genuine. Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren, Nicole Kidman bring heft to the film in a wonderful way. Patrick Wilson is pretty damn good too. The mythos behind Aquaman is here and not sullied in any way, thank God. All the way around it's a fun movie. I could and will continue to watch this and I can't wait to see Aquaman 2.
