Imagine if the only humans alive after the apocalypse were a colony of clones of the only human to survive, a traumatized teenager, and they worship her as a god, and your role is to delve into her memories to discover the truth about the world you live in.
Great voice acting, great art direction, and one of the most tightly written, thematically consistent, and heartfelt stories I have ever experienced in a game. Even if you don't like light gameplay story based games, you owe it to yourself to check this game out, especially if you like Nier, Evangelion, or movies like Arrival.
Sunset Visitor, the game dev, is a group of immersive theatre workers whose projects were shelved during the Pandemic and made a game exploring similar themes as their theatre, such as family trauma, bullying, xenophobia, the immigrant experience, motherhood, what it means to be home, totalitarianism, and specifically, the Hong Kong Umbrella Revolution. The creator's theatre experience really shines though on the deftness of their storytelling and presentation.
