It's Barbie meets Harry Potter and his best friend, Dr. Doolittle. Nauseatingly saccharine song and dance routines, save the last one. What was such an epic song as Defying Gravity doing in a ill- advised remake of this Broadway musical? Almost left after ten minutes to ask for a refund on my ticket. A waste of 160 minutes of my time.

This film kept my eyes glued to the screen. Great story, a bit too I tense sometimes for anxiety- ridden, a bit too much nudity and 'way too much gore for me, but the movie made it's point: the search for eternal youth is futile. Made me feel leery of putting moisturizer on my face tonight! A true horror film with spectacular performances all around.

Depressing! OMG! If the world needs ANYTHING right now, it is NOT a sadness- inducing, grief- reliving drama like Reawakening. Superbly acted all around, it left me with questions, which is not a negative, but just a Hallmark of this not- a- feel- good movie. Questions: why did both John as well as Mary keep the police in the dark about "Clare's" reappearance? Did Mary secretly sense that this Clare is not their Clare? What did John do with the police photo of the necklace that he had given Clare years ago? Had this photo been taken of a corpse? Was this a photo of a necklace found in the street or in a dumpster? Wasn't clear to me. In essence, Clare is unclear. What motivated Mary to accept "Clare" as the real Clare when she believed deep down that she was not? Was she trying to give "Clare" the love and attention she would have gladly lavished on her daughter, had she been there all these ten years? Was she hoping that her love would turn "Clare" into CLARE? Searing, painful questions.

This film is a masterpiece! It is a case study of the treatment of the mentally ill in decades past, but it also raises the question how do you define "mental illness"? Are the prison guards who sadistically abuse their charges mentally well or ill? Is the cynical prosecuting attorney and by- the- book judge mentally fit to discharge their duties? Is our overwhelming desire for our 15 minutes of fame a sign of mental health or mental illness, narcissism? Is the current state of mental health care in the United States easily accessible to those truly in need of it but who cannot afford private psychiatric care? Is this in itself a statement of mental unwellness? Joachim Phoenix deserves an Oscar for his portrayal of the downtrodden, desperate, depressed, and sadly maniacal Arthur. A dark film, yes, but a must- see.

Great acting, special affects, etc. But, the entire film was a muddled mess, a second-rate rehash and a remix of the first Beetlejuice movie, which was absolutely brilliant. This most definitely was not. Michael Keaton was outstanding, as always. It was worth the price of admission just to watch him do his thing.

Entertaining, but poorly acted. This was a case of a script that was borrowed from a few really good films. The resulting mashup was just that- a mashup. A pity.

Crime pays? What was the point of this movie?

Really good story: believable, well- acted, no clunky plot twists just to be entertaining. That said, the LANGUAGE! I seriously could have done without the non- stop profanity. Also, the cat fetish and the main character's nerd- geek long hair, which looked clean and neat only in the final scenes. A pity: I was really looking forward to this film. It was a bit of a disappointment.

I really wanted to like this biopic, but I couldn't. The heavily Jamaican-accented English dialogue was hard to understand, there was no intro to the background of the political conflict in Jamaica- why was Bob Marley targeted? Why were there so few snippets of his concerts? It was hard to get a feeling for why his music was so popular because you couldn't hear very much of it. A little history of the Rastafarian movement and of reggae music would have enriched the film. As it was, most of what I viewed was enthusiastic audiences screaming and applauding at a guy who danced around in ordinary clothes and sang in a very ordinary voice some very ordinary songs. No probing as to why he wouldn't let a doctor cure him of his melanoma. No family or friends ( except one) urging him to get treatment. No story, no nothing! What was the point of making this movie? Not recommended.
