Very disappointing and disheartening to me as a die hard fan of Rajnikanth, to my wife who is lover of family drama, to my daughter who is fun loving. One line story, brother sister love is okay, but worst full story, irritating dialogues, hero taking lessons to villians with so called punch dialogues even while fighing unbelievable boring screen play and fight sequences, Thalayar's acting looked artificial and over acting. Rajni sir should understand onething, your fans are ready to watch your movies inspite of repeated failures, but you should not take advantage of it. Your selection of story, directors and other things are not as before in the last 7 to 8 movies.

After reading Ponniyin selvan by Kalki Udayar by Balakumaran is no where near. Balakumaran takes the opportunity to tell his own philosophies and thoughts through various characters of the historical novel. He justifies some of the deeds which he thought is correct like men having more than one wives. We could see portraying some castes to be more intelligent and loyal. Kalki never did all these.
