I am not Indian. Therefore I have no place in commenting on their culture. I am watching this because I find it entertaining. As another reviewer pointed out so accurately, it’s refreshing to watch a dating show without mud wrestling, tiny swim suits or a constant flow of overly dramatic tears.
I enjoy studying human behavior. I find the people in this series fascinating. They are intelligent, successful folks with strong family values. I admire that.
The irritating part is the few individuals, mostly female, who have unrealistically high standards. These particular professional women come off as harsh and narcissistic. Shallow, if you will.
Sima is a delightful character. Likable. As I spent many years as a recruiter, I understand the challenges she faces in setting up these matches. Everything may look good “on paper” but the rest is wildly unpredictable.
My favorite part is the opening segment of each episode. This is where long term married couples are briefly interviewed. In them you see what decades of love, compromise and dedication produces. As a side note, this is the only time I ever laugh out loud as I observe the affectionate banter of 2 people who have weathered the storms and enjoyed the ride. Warms my heart.
