This is a typical self help book; I feel like if you’ve read one you’ve read them all. If you’re a mom there’s a ton in here about “mommy guilt” and it’s ok to be a “working mommy”. If you’re not a mom [yet], you can’t relate to about 33% of the book. She states the obvious a lot in this book. Think positively, live positively. It’s okay, but pretty clichè/cheesy and kind of boring for a quick read. I found her to be the typical Pinterest, pro-female, pro-hard-working, pro-self-empowerment woman you see all over Instagram. Didn’t love the book... only read if you’ve never before read a self help book.
Also- her tone of writing seems condescending, like she’s writing to a pre-teen audience. Everything she writes is so obvious it left me thinking which grown adults exist and think otherwise? Another thing that irked me is the entire book kinda felt like a brag fest from the author. Awesome, you’ve accomplished so much in your life all on your own, congratulations! *eye roll* She inserts religion and God into a lot of this book as a head’s up. I felt like the book was her Master’s Thesis for explaining why she’s so awesome and inspirational, and I just didn’t buy into it :-/.
