The movie is great one time watch….a real treat from dhanush.For me I think the reason the movie got my 4/5 rating is his fantastic acting as the messiah of immigrants.His role as Suruli has to be one of his best.His acting throughout the film was amazing.James Cosmo though at sometimes felt like he overacted, still did his job as a worthy villain.Joju George making his tollywood debut did a fine job as sivadoss.Aishwarya suresh was also good with her role…. The Camerawork was also good.Shots were taken beautifully.Karthik subbaraj continued his great work in portraying a good story about the struggle of immigrants. But the problem in the movie is that(which I think is pretty obvious)Is the fact that he tried to portray dhanush as rajinikanth.If he had let dhanush be dhanush,it would have been a much better movie All in all-a great one time watch for dhanush fans and also a fan of action movies

A must watch movie that you simply cannot miss!! Every actor delivered excellent performances and the dialouges and BGM were just next level!! Slow 1st half, but once the movie reaches the climax, the slow 1st half was justifiable as they wanted to tell the narrative in a bit lengthy manner.... Dulqer was kinda awkward at first with his role as kurup but towards the 2nd half,he started fitting to the role. Shine Tom Chacko! Man! you tell him to act , he will live the role and what a performance he put up as Bhasi Pillai! Sobhita Dhulipala put up a respectable performance and hope this 1 of the many movies of hers to come in mollywood and her chemistry with DQ was amazing. Indrajith and Sunny Wayne put up some nice and suitable performances in their roles and their performance is kinda underrated if you ask me.... Also shoutout to Tovino thomas for accepting such a small yet significant role of Chacko[in the movie Charlie] and also Anupama parameshwaran for accepting the role of the wife of chacko...

I watched the film at 10 PM and the film despite its long time limit wasn't so bad to the extent I fell asleep.Honestly,the film doesn't deserve the bad reviews.It was certainly a good movie, just it didn't mount the expectations of the fans who have been waiting for the past 1 1/2 years.The 1st half was excellent and the ship battle between the Portugese army and the Zamorin army had to be one of the best scenes in the Indian film industry.The standout role was pranav mohanlal as a younger version of Kunjali Marakkar IV.He created the same aura his father had and is surely gonna make it big in the near future.Mohanlal was excellent as always! He had this natural flow in his character which made the film an exciting watch.Siddique and the other supporting characters made us feel we were in that time period. But the weak link in the movie is the screenplay.The dialouges said in the 2nd half is literally giving the meme material for the trolls in the internet.
