Started out well, but there just weren’t enough plausible twists and turns to keep my attention.
And far too many long winded scenery descriptions. Nobody cares if the protagonist is high up on a hill or down in a valley.
Also, it’s unlikely so much scientific knowledge would have been lost over a thousand years. People talk!
And the multiple mud slides throughout the book were just ridiculous, and the ending abysmal! Couldn’t they have escaped? Why not a labyrinth of rooms with working technology, and who would leave a valuable gold medal hanging about in times of such despair and hardship???
Poorly conceived and mostly unbelievable. Sorry Robert, you can do much better.
