Leaving aside the fact that it is a propaganda movie, based on the book of an author that has assisted multiple times to Foro de Sao Pablo, the movie in itself is a mess, it looks like the director didn't know what the intention was and after more than half of the movie comes in a narrator to try to explain to us what is going on, on the nose dialogues and photography that looks more like a Hallmark movie than passionate independent cinema. Some of the characters are just cartoons absolutely 2d characters and don't get me started with the accents, I guess they could not find any Cubans actor besides Armas (god only knows why) to work on romanticizing the revolution.
