I only watched the first season, and it was good enough to finish, but never amazing to where I felt incredibly excited for the next episode or really wanting more. Here are a few issues I had: I found Quentin and Alice quite annoying. For people that look like they’re in their 30’s it was irritating that for some reason they decided that they should go fight the beast some powerful villain without telling someone experienced in these matters and hoping for their aid. (Sure Quentin later told the headmaster or whatever but it’s a tad too late). Alice was so stubborn with bringing her brother back then just gave up without real reason. Sure he went inside a box or whatever but him being dead wasn’t enough to stop her initially? The relationship between Quentin and Alice was odd too it seems forced as their personalities I don’t find go well together. An awkward depressed untalented guy who comes off incredibly selfish is with a smart stubborn loner. Their issues seem avoidable, caused by dumb mistakes and then just brushed aside. Penny was the only character I actually enjoyed. I’m usually a big fan of magic and mystical creatures, but after reading how they finished season 4 and not being too excited on season 1 I figured it’s not worth finishing.
