While the graphics are stunning and I mean absolutely breath taking, the detail in environments to the weapons and so forth it’s simply incredible but unfortunately and I hate to jump on the band wagon. The story is incredibly weak, it relies on more shock value- to which I mean just the level of violence, it’s almost as if naughty dog set out to completely undo the first one. Which is fine, I get that the story needs to take a different approach and lead, but the level of gore and blood is just a bit much for me, the rollercoaster of emotions from the game too is simply bipolar. I can’t keep up with it, I don’t mind Ellie being lesbian, batting for both sides, whatever. We all knew it was coming from the original. My concern is that this masterful work in terms of effort put in will potentially see a loss of fan base, won’t see a good return and people, dare I say from the leaks, will see it that margin close in further. It’s a shame, a company with the likes of Uncharted and a reputation like this took a odd turn with the direction of story telling. I just don’t understand it, it could be they took too big of a risk? Either way, I’m personally a bit disappointed and wish I could get what I paid back some way as I feel like although good. Fell very short of greatness, I hope this isn’t naughty dog’s fall from grace and they come back with a better title with a better storyline which at the moment is what I feel is needed.
