Not a bad movie and I've tried to watch with an open mind and not being biased to the original but it just isn't as good.

I really enjoyed this movie but don't expect it to be the Venom from the comics you know. This being a Sony movie and not set in the MCU there is no spiderman tie in and so Venom does not have the spider enigma or Spidermans powers. The character Eddie Brock is this movie is seen as confident at times but mostly weak in character. Being a huge fan of the original Venom this annoyed me at first. Eddie brock is a big powerful guy who is arrogant and headstrong. Tom hardy is brilliant in this role but does not have the physique to portray this and does not seem to be arrogant at all. This being said if you can put the comic aside and see it for what it is then you will enjoy this movie too :)
