Mechanically the game is designed from the ground up to be grindy without any real reward.
They included a battlepass in every character basically. Including a 1000 credit (10$) price tag for roughly 80% of the content inside of "Challenge Cards" which by their names leads the player to believe that what? Youd increase it through challenges and get rewards through challenges. Instead, you get rewards mainly only if you spend the 10$ to activate the character card.
Instead of like nearly every other ARPG where your gear affects appearance, they monetize the game by locking any decent cosmetics behind an additional paywall. Usually around 7$ a skin.
They claim they are 'reworking' a system that used to let you earn it, but have completely disabled it in the meantime, making the challenge cards that you have to pay for, the only way to change how your character looks at any level.
Even the most iconic outfits are paywalled. The free skins basically make everyone but BP look like a casual muppet.
The combat is not very redeeming, feeling like a weird mix between a brawler and a hack and slash rpg in the vein of soulslikes, without the polish and simplicity of them.
The gearing is relatively trash, theres no real build composition as 90% of items you receive only boost intrinsic or willpower gain rate. Which is the equivalent of having maybe 2 item effects in any other ARPG. I didnt push to champion levels simply because the game failed to be interesting in any way.
Even from a narrative standpoint the game is lackluster, blatantly ignoring established canon at almost every turn, pedestalling characters who are in canon - generally considered fodder.
