To describe to you the excitement I had for this movie, my husband and I arrived in full costume. Two hours and twenty minutes later, I walked out with my trench coat on my arm.
The original trilogy brought about a sense of pure awesomeness. They literally changed the way movies were made and the way we view the world and talk about it. (I.e. “a glitch in the matrix”) They added details nobody would think about, and in turn it made you think. This movie felt like they were making fun of that. I loved seeing Neo and trinity again, but it felt like being forcefed nostalgia like we’d look past the obvious flaws. Also why does Neo now have force push? Just wondering- it’s so overused and he never even grabs a gun. Did love the cat, and thought the blue imagery was great. But above all- I’m devastated that even in my one showing, I heard people talking about how this is their first Matrix movie- and I doubt they’ll watch the originals after this.
