It’s funny to read people who haven’t even played the game leave negative reviews that have nothing to do with the game, all because of a dubious publisher and/or because Steam had to wait 10 hours later than consoles to play it (I bought it on Steam btw). From actually playing several hours of ME1 already, I can tell you from the first moments, this game is already a stunning remaster. You only need to get to the scene where you see Sovereign for the first time on Eden Prime to realize that this isn’t just slapped on 4K textures, but actual scenes recreated using new technologies that just weren’t available when this game first came out. It truly is a loving and dedicated update to a game that fascinated my childhood, and it allows you to experience the game almost like new and have a whole new experience. To add to the already stunning visual updates, there is also some much welcomed UI and combat updates to make, ME1 especially, feel more fluid and intuitive. I’ll note, I’m playing at 1440p, so I can’t speak for 1080. So don’t listen to some salty person who couldn’t wait 10 hours and is stuck in the past and wanting everyone to hate everything published by EA as much as them, actually give the game a try for yourself, buy it on Steam, and if you’re not as impressed as I was after even a couple hours, refund it like any adult would.
