As a huge fan of detective noir films (Chinatown, Angel Heart, LA Confidential), I recognized a lot of the same tropes, but that doesn’t take away anything from the execution of the storytelling which was spot on perfect. If you don’t find yourself reminiscing on old loves and memories after this one, you’re either dead inside or haven’t lived enough. Completely unexpected gem on HBO Max.
