One of the worst cases of "stupid character syndrome" I've ever seen. Aliens that are killed by water come to earth NAKED. If you want to say "every misfortune, from the smallest irritation to the greatest unimaginable tragedy, is, ultimately, a necessary part of God's plan for your benefit" then just SAY it; don't waste my time with this contrived morality tale.
