I loved the Miss Fisher TV series - even if I failed to figure out what was going on much of the time. The clothes, homes, cars, and cast were so fabulous that it kept me and my husband entertained -- and coming back for more. We hated to see it end. So - were excited at the thought of the movie, and dismissed the somewhat sour reviews we came across.... but the sour reviews were correct. The film was terrible. The ultimate sin? It looked cheap - Phrine's clothes were so cheesy I actually winced. And were some of the sets ...painted? What a sad, sad mess.
