Warning, contains a few spoilers...I'll start with the good: The actors did a great job and did what the could with the material but the plot and story line left much to be desired. The movie was slow going at first and took a LONG time to get to the good glory scenes where wonder woman shows her prowl. Here's a few things that were glaringly bad. Steve's return in a different body 'ala Steve' was a tad confusing. The story just kind of hazed over that detail.
At one point Diane and Steve steal a plan from what appears to be a museum hanger. I guess Diane has an all access pass to anything museum related in D.C, including high flying former military aircraft. Steve miraculously is able to pilot the plane they steal even though its way more modern than the ones he knew from WW1. Good thing that ol girl was gassed up and mechanically sound ready on a tar mack for just such an occasion. Diane then magically manifests the plane to invisibility where they fly through a major fireworks show. Doesn't seem real safe.
Most of wonder woman's glory scenes are so over the top with special effects one can barely tell whats happening. Who thought to write the scene 'lets have her in the desert whipping around between military trucks and saving children swinging from a tower.' And those guys with guns, they couldn't hit her at close range with an automatic. She wasn't even using her wristbands.
And not sure why Kristen Wiig's character would want to a feline like non human ala the movie 'Cats'. I don't think she thought that wish out.
Oh, and by the end of the movie wonder woman has learned to fly. Or maybe she learned some new technique like in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon where they are dancing on water and air as they fight. I couldn't say. With all the said, I do think the actors performances were tight. One can't take their eyes off Gal Gadot, and well Mando, aka, Pedro Pascal, had won me over from many other characters he's played. Kristen Wiig was rockin some leotards too. That was cool.
