As I’m writing this review, I find myself disgusted and wishing for people to stop bringing attention to Meghan is Missing. I finally got around to watching it, as I consider myself a true horror fan and many had been raving about it online recently as a “truly terrifying film”. It’s not terrifying. It’s nothing short of torture porn and the exploitation and fetishizing of minors, disguising itself as an educational film. The girls in the film, at the time of filming, Were 16 playing 13-14 year olds. The film is poorly written and has almost no plot, only for the last 20 minutes to be nothing but torture porn and unnecessary disturbing imagery involving sexualizing sexual assault and murder. I can even say that it is worse than a Siberian film when it comes to the graphic assaults. As a sexual assault survivor, I knew what I was getting into. I researched into it before watching like I do with most movies that have similar themes. But the way this movie was filmed was strictly for predators to get off to it. It was advertised as why you shouldn’t meet people online and was supposed to show what could happen to you as a victim. The movie had so much more to offer. All I learned from it was that it’s disgusting, The director and writer are horrible people catering to pedophilia, and the only type of person who could sit through that movie and not feel uncomfortable would have to be a rapist themselves. DO NOT BUY OR CONTRIBUTE ANYTHING TO MEGAN IS MISSING.
