I was eager to see WW84 after the first one, but very disappointed. I guess I can understand fans trying to prop this up, but it was pretty bad. Reminds me of the early superman movies, but with a lot more plot holes. Hopefully, they can save it with the next movie. And also, "blockbuster" means that the movie does phenomenally well at the box office. It is a very simple word with a very simple definition. Saying "This is a blockbuster" would be literally false. Saying "This is what a blockbuster should be" I guess is ok, as a wish (no pun intended). But WW84 is not a blockbuster. The first one was.

I found the series engrossing. It tasted both good and bad, but what would a story be if it wasn't true to itself. I wonder sometimes if the symbolism people are pointing to in these reviews even exists. I am pretty sure it doesn't, since each reviewer sees something different. First and foremost, my goal in reading or watching a story is to enjoy it, and I did enjoy this one. There are stories that are parodies of current events, but this isn't one of them. This story was simply artful and emotional, and the choices the author made for characters and settings is the same thing a painter does when they choose colors and canvas. Would a killer pandemic end up like portrayed? I doubt it. But I don't think the point of the story was prediction. The setting was chosen simply to support an engrossing non linear story of people.
