Brilliant movie. Entertaining and easy to follow. I didn't know Cleopatra had Caesar's baby and don't know enough history to comment on historical accuracy. I do know this movie gripped me for over three hours.

The symbolism inherent in a magnet works well at all levels, to give the movie depth. Typically like many movies of the time, the plot contains interesting moral lessons for all of us.

Brilliant satire directed by Charlie Chaplin. At the time the world was gripped by violence and recism. In this context the final speech's meaning is more important than any adherance to comic norms.
