I've been watching k-dramas for quite sometime now and never knew that the 1980's were such a dark time in Korean history. 'Youth of May' shed light on this brutal past for me. If not for the Gwangju Uprising, South Korea might not be a democratic nation today. Anyway, I recommend the show as a must-watch. The intense chemistry between Go Minsi and Lee Dohyun will keep you riveted as other actors also bring life to the show with their characters. Never did I cry so much while watching a drama. After watching the last episode, I've been bawling for 2 days straight now. It's painful how things pan out for our beloved Myungheetae couple for whom we've been rooting all along. Nevertheless, amidst the pain, there is a sweetness that comes through, even with such an ending. Seriously, hands down one of the best k-dramas I've ever watched. 'Youth of May', you made my May better and you'll forever hold a special place in my heart. You deserve all the awards and recognition. Well done.
