This is Star Trek. Discovery is too much like it is trying to be edgy and modern. Discovery feels forced in almost every way, you are aware you are watching a show. Not so with The Orville. Sure it has silly moments, but id say it works. The stories feel like they are a part of TNG series, which is the highest compliment i can give it.
