The scenario could have been interesting, but it's ruined by an exaggerated sequence of actions, made-up anecdotes, and situations from previous Matrix movies, as well as some nonsense sci-fi hints intended to appease sci-fi lovers.
The Matrix: Resurrection is a poor amalgamation of the philosophical concepts from the previous Matrix films. This is the exact same mistake that Disney made with the last three Star Wars films. What a squandering of funds, poorly used. A total reset will have been much better, than trying to please the fans (yes doesn't succeed in).
Besides, Keanu Reeves appears to have been coerced into acting in that film and struggled to act in the same way as he used to in his previous opuses. I remain a fan of Keanu Reeves, but the film industry should stop squeezing talent from our lovely actors.
We ask for The Matrix, not Transformers or Ninja Turtles sequel. Like another reviewer said: "The movie is a meta-joke and nostalgia quite literally projected on the walls for you to remember what you are missing." Full stop.
From a french fan of Matrix.
