'Thugs of Hindostan"..proudly presented by YRF featuring Aamir Khan,Amitabh Bachaan, budget of Rs.300 Crs, directed by Vijay Acharya(Dhoom 3) ,hit songs of ajay-atul, brilliant promos and......
Audience went in the cinema hall, did advance booking of first five days, they were thrilled to celebrate their Diwali to watch two great superstars on cinema screen.
After 3 hours..
They were thugged out, disappointed and shocked with their Diwali getting spoiled with their own money.
What'a in the movie?
Aditya Chopra have spent Rs.300 cr on building ships, paying Aamir Khan, Big B,Katrina Kaif crores of money to act, dance and perform but unfortunately forgot to pay Vijay Acharya for writing the story and directing this magnum canvas. They tried to create indianised Pirates of Carribean. Barring Aamir Khan , all actors were used merely as props, including BigB in few scenes. It came close to Aamir Khan's worst movie of his lifetime- mela and BIgB's -RGV Aag and YRFs ..Taashan.
Music was good but background score was pathetic. It was a story set in 18th century but background score was of 80s. Direction was so bad that one could figure out technical issue and goofups in each scene. There is a method in making such grand movie and eye for details is required.
Hollywood has a method of detailing in such big scale movie and time has arrived for Bollywood to learn the discipline and technical aspects of making such movie, instead of pumping money. It lacked the intelligence in presentation and story telling.
What's good?
Aamir Khan stood like a sole performer on the stage with other acting like a junior artist. Action were good but lacked the choreography and sequencing of action scenes along with a good VFX, with expectations from Bahubali.
Overall, watch it if you want to spend money in Diwali instead of buying crackers or dinner with your family.
