I am a long-term viewer of CBS this morning and generally enjoy the show. I am writing to express my significant dissatisfaction with the report this morning by Meg Oliver on the school board meeting in New Jersey regarding mask mandates for students. This main stream news show gave a parent who is critically misinformed about the efficacy of wearing masks for children in school a powerful megaphone. Instead of challenging the opinions of a misinformed parent, the correspondent allowed her the opportunity to spread her ideas. It is certainly more than about time that the media stepped up and challenged people who perpetuate misinformation about protecting the public from Covid infection. This is not about appearing objective, it is about presenting the facts and supporting the greater majority of American citizens who are trying to do the right thing to protect themselves, their loved ones and their community from this deadly virus.
