The Misremembered Man by Christina McKenna made me happy and sad at the same time. Yes, horrors were perpetrated by the Catholic "charities" and the priests who "served" with them. And too many children were maimed both physically and spiritually by the institutions that were supposed to help both the mothers and the children. Yet the way this book was written made me cheer for the two main characters! To overcome some of the customs and the background made both characters heroes! If she writes another book similar to this one, sign me up for a copy!
