I can't stand this "documentary". This film is very one-sided, biased. Clearly it's trying to make people hate the one child policy, and more importantly to feel anger towards the Chinese Party. This feels like western propraganda.
What about these people who decided to get pregnant knowing it's against the policy. What about these people keep getting pregnant only so they can have a boy. What about these people leaving their new born daughters to die because they are not boys.
As a film, is this about one child policy or gender inequality in rural areas? There is not enough focus.
In fact, one child policy helped with gender inequity issue in China. It helped female to get equal education and equal job opportunities. Without one child policy, more girls will get abandoned or no opportunities for education. People are getting abortions to kill girls already without the policy. How is what acceptable? Not to mention there is inaccurate information delivered in this film. For example, twins count as one birth per policy. The part where the girl is talking about being seperate from her twin brother doesn't make sense.
It is so easy to hate the Chinese party for anything and everything, and that's the main purpose of this film.
Everything has more than just one side. I'm truly disappointed on this film.
