Wow, Guillermo Del Toro continues his legacy. Yes it has a decently long run time however it is one of the most touching modern film adaptations, so compelling and poignant. Incredible Cinematography and writing that is both touching & compelling. Netflix You f'd up! This film could have made a killing with a full theatrical October release and still boosted your algorithm by thanksgiving.

If you want spoon-fed backstory and clear plot themes or cliche superheroes then this isnt for you. If one desires to analyze why the hodgepodge that seems to fit yet not quite amd mirror yet somehow set its self apart - now there in lies the idea. Art imitates yet leaves thought provoking symbols abound... Meanwhile the average continue about the hamster wheel til our inevitable demise without so much as a cookie.

Breathtaking... Surely violent and yet that is Our history and the same thing that happens on these islands was the same the world over and will happen again and again until we face Ourselves, Our past & Our nature. Beautiful cinematography, authentic cast & scenery, outstanding directors and writing classic tropes and yet poignant character arches. On par with Shogun and those few rare instant classics of cinema greatness!

Underrated, superbly cast, well shot and directed, dark, quirky, authentic, great story and character archs followed through in little time!

Exactly what I look for in a film. Happily caught off guard by bittersweet character development poired over beautifully shot sequences of everyday life struggles and misteps to create an authentic story.. Then throw in hints of something more!

This film stands the test of time. Directed by (RIP Tony Scott) The most honest look at Americas own "Democratic" social political landscape and Surveillance State Now more than ever in 2025. Gene Hackmanis amazing, Will Smith is sharp. Decent script. Super fun shooting style and early "color" in city scapes, etc This is where We learned to loathe Jon Voight and the "Suits".

Top notch cultural comedy, fantastic writing, situational humor, cast is amazing - cant say enough about this gym of a hit. Anyone who gave this less than 3 stars, smh.

I'm giving this family friendly horror film with 80s/90s style kid centric genre adventure 5 stars. It hs a classic sensibility yet fun and even fantastic directing, super cast with Mel Gibson bringing his A game and wearing his heart on his sleeve in this one. The scenes where the up & comer llead actor and Gibson match monologues that push the movie forward as well as delivere raw emotion and support each other throughout the story arch made this movie really something special.

I have to say this movie and adaptation of an old classic was spot on with laughs, family fun, amazing cast that made evey moment warm and hilarious with a message and theme that had a heart of Gold. Any other critique would be shallow or over thought as the film delivered on every level.

1 star reviews must be all vampires, lm*o! Wildly Fresh, different and entertaining with a soul and attempting something new with something old.. Beautiful message hidden in the subtext that many self absorbed will mos def miss;) The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was due to the some what slow or longer pacing.
