The story of this game had so much potential but severely lacked when it came down to it.
- Where are the elves that left to join Solas in DAI? Why are they never mentioned in this game?
- Why aren't any of the quests memorable? There isn't any quest in this game that will stick with me like the ones in DAI and DA2, there was more character, fun and depth in the quests from previous games but this one...not so much. They don't stay in your mind or your heart.
- Why is so much development hidden in codex entries and never in a scene? Scenes hit harder than a codex entry ever could.
- Why are the quests cut so weirdly? The story doesn't connect smoothly because of this.
- Why is the Inquisitor's romance only seemingly important in this game if they romanced Solas? All the others get a single (and easy-to-miss) letter.
- Why was the romances in this game so dull when they were hyped up to be beautiful, complex and passionate? DAO, DA2 and DAI all had the relationship build up and mean something, I'm not seeing that here.
As a fan of Dragon Age, this was disheartening because I know the devs wanted to do better and had so much plans but were being rushed and overworked - and the game has suffered greatly for it.
Slow and steady wins the race, EA.
The character creator was amazing and I liked that Rook had a lot of background (mournwatcher, crow, warden, ect) and the small dialogue options each faction bought was good. But it lacks in every other aspect.
This ultimately was not worth the money I spent on it and I'll be giving ME5 a hard miss if this is what to expect from EA/Bioware games now.
