I would not know how to convey properly the praises this movie deserves in my opinion, but it is without question a must watch work of art.Just on the screenwriting and acting alone, this merits your time and purchase. As an adaptation and as a remake of previous productions of the movie, I am sure it will stand the test of time and become the point of reference and comparison to future remakes. Thank you, Gerwig, cast and everyone involved for creating what I think to be a perfect film. I did not have a favorite movie until now but I have been recommending it as such to everyone I know since I watched it. 5/5

The professional critics can get it wrong too. We're all humans and in this case they most certainly did. This show is hilarious, witty and plagued with amazing performances from beginning to end. I am glad to see audiences are responding to it much better than those initial reviews. It probably goes to say that this type of absurdist and critical comedy can be a hit or miss with the crowds. For me, it hit all the marks and I definitively recommend it, especially if you already like space, government and politic topics... the absurd in contrast with its serious counterparts was the best of it and it did not hurt that it felt current too. I loved it and I hope it gets renewed for a second season if anything just because we all deserve a bit more of this hilarious duo in our lives!

This is probably one of the better adaptations into television of a book that I have seen and definitively the best adaptation from a game. The attention to plot details and lore is almost perfect. The show flows seamlessly and its setting is so smooth that it can perfectly immerse newcomers with no idea of any other prior material related to the plot. The actors are good and the tone and pace perfectly align with both the book and the games. If you have played/read them you will feel transported at times without annoying fan-serving callbacks and if you are new to this universe the show will be entertaining enough to propel you towards even more content and stories available set in this universe. Either way, by the end of the show you will be left wondering how long until season 2. Honestly, this show brought me back to the feeling of watching the original Lord of the Rings trilogy and just holding my jaw back into place because I could not believe the worlds I had read of could come to life so beautifully. It deserves the praise. It's probably one of the best Netflix Originals right now and definitively my favorite new show this year, not because it hit so above any expectation I could have but because it delivered a good story so well for both new people and old fans. PS: This review is a combination of my opinions, as a fan of the games and books, and my boyfriend, a complete newcomer to the world of the Witcher. Hope you enjoy the show!
