Just play the game it's so much better. It's a classic example of "Netflix Adapation" meme, extremely woke and with really not great writing in most of the episodes.
There's some good in the choice of the cast though, mostly in Geralt, Ciri, Dandelion and Villentretenmerth, but I can't sadly say the same about Triss, Yen, Fringilla and most other sorcerers, or the way they chose to depict them.
First couple of episodes do stand out from the rest, both for quality and plot. It quickly loses its pace and appeal after that, playing an annoying amount of time with timelines and drafting backgrounds instead of properly building backstories (aside from Yen which has a lot of screen time).
Characters and places are introduced so hastily you simply don't even bother to remember anything about the world that's not directly on screen.
Seriously, if I hadn't known a good part of the story beforehand, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy any of the characters since I would have been so confused I probably would've dropped the series after 3 episodes.
