I cannot think of anything more distracting or boring than inserting interviews on split screen and chit chat while a game is in progress. You announcers talk about everything but what is going on on the field. Bring back these play by play announcers of the 60' and 70's where they actually embellish the game at hand. They never had to fill the air with meaningless chatter about salaries, diets, driving habits, interviews from the dugouts or what happened last year. It's constant talk with no rhyme or reason. The broadcast booth is over crowded. How many people do you need? Color commentator, Statistics guru, rule junkie and a cutie. Let's add a stand up comic and make it a foursome. Give me one great play by play announcer that is creative, informative and who adds to the broadcast.
