A great action movie, that takes a bold risk, to move the franchise in a non 'Connor' direction. Yet, it still feels like a terminator movie with its intense, thrilling and action packed sequences (some of the best since T2). The underlying terminator premise is still there where mankind's survival depends on one person who is destined to lead them to victory in the war against the machines but who is vulnerable in the present. So a terminator is sent by the machines to change their fate and a protector by the humans to ensure mankind's eventual victory. Though, the plot is woven so as to be have new faces and, wonderfully, include old favourites. Great 'popcorn' action movie to watch.

Music is god-tier, combat gameplay is extremely joyous, with the materia system, providing great complexity and depth. But to fully appreciate the game's combat mechanics and materia system, play it on hard mode, as you will have to utilise most aspects of upgrading and materia combinations to beat the game. The story is great, with loveable, quirky characters scattered throughout, with a great narrative twist to the story that completely transcends the game to something that is more than merely a scence-for-scence remake. The graphics are mostly stunning, with great attention to detail, that lovingly recreate characters and places from the original. And the character voice actors have also done a great job in bringing these characters to life. All-in-all, though some parts of the game, can be tedious, at times, final fantasy 7 remake is nothing short of a masterpiece. It's wonderful to play a game, I played so many years back then, that which, now can still feel so impactful, that I cannot wait for the unknown journey to continue.
