In season 2 episode 4 Jack showed his parents a picture of an object in space that was taken from a satellite or space station. The US government stated it was not US aircraft and could be alien. That it also came out of the ocean and flew into the sky. If you remember in the original Witch Mountain movie at the end the kids space ship had been in the ocean!
