I liked how it put us in her shoes of her struggles and accomplishment as a 12 year-old individual. Red Scarf Girl showed that without a strong government system countries can be taken over by anyone, or any group. I find it interesting that the author Jiang Ji-li was able remember her past when she struggle to live through the Cultural Revolution. Due to us being all different, we realize that we all went through similar events that affected us in a good/bad way.
