PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING IGNORE THE CRITICS!!!! This movie is extremely well made and Sonic's redesign is not only the best thing about the movie, it's the best example of responding to crowd feedback and bringing in an actual fan/Sonic design team member. The jokes are fast and funny and come in abundance and Jim Carrey's version of eggman only gets better and better and peaks at the very end of the movie. And (spoiler alert) Tails' appearance made me go crazy! All I suggest is that the sequel have Sonic discover breakdancing, as it is much less cringey than flossing, and in the games Sonic loves to breakdance.
