First listen I really didn’t like it. I thought I wouldn’t even try a second full play through. Then I couldn’t get a part of Mattel out of my head even though I hadn’t particularly liked it, so I listened to the album all the way through again 3 times in a row. And now I love it. I can understand the people who don’t vibe with it at all, and also people who think it’s a masterpiece. I prefer the song The Stage to any singular track from this, but I much prefer this album to The Stage the album as a whole. I’ve heard ‘you need to hear this as a whole album’ many times before but this is the first time it has rung true for me.
