The developers chose frustration over fun. The game could be fun, but because they say so, you must suffer. Almost every aspect of this game is majorly flawed in some way. A wise man once said to trust the player, but this game is built around the opposite of that concept. Aside from a boring, tedious, frustrating experience; I can't believe this is now the worst builder on the market. Trail Makers was probably the worst, but now a Zelda game is the worst builder in history. I think the main issue with the game is that it's made by people who are particularly unintelligent. I honestly believe the game would have turned out better if it were made by smarter people because it falls short of good, smart design in almost every aspect. BOTW had some issues, but the fun factor almost concealed the problems. In this game, the problems have been multiplied by at least 10 and absolutely none of the previous issues were addressed in any meaningful way. The biggest insult is the price. 70 dollars USD is what next generation games cost. This game isn't next generation and it hasn't been released on a next generation console. They simply thought they could just bump the price up because "that's what games cost nowadays" even though most of those games come with a copy of current and previous gen versions of the game. There's no reason why this game costs so much especially when Nintendo continues to release broken controllers that cost more than normal controllers of the same generation. I came here from Elden Ring and I can say without any doubt that this game is way too hard for absolutely no reason. Most of the time, no amount of skill can surpass the difficulty and the game will require you to make progress is some vague way in order to defeat certain enemies that can even be found at the very beginning of the game. The combat is bafflingly unintuitive and disconnected so there's no good reason to warrant high difficulty. Elden Ring didn't just make everything impossible and sell well. Fromsoftware made a challenging but fair game that's extremely rewarding. This game tried to add difficulty because their tiny brains thought that was the key to good design, yet made it unfathomably unfair and frustrating with zero satisfaction in victory or achievement. The controls are outdated, confusing, inconsistent and clunky. There's also a layover with certain controls causing inputs that you never put into the controller adding additional frustration to the game. It's like they took all the problems with every popular game ever made and conglomerated them into one big disaster. They actually did the same thing that banjo kazooie nuts and bolts did with the horrible vehicle building and I can't believe it. I'm surprised this game doesn't have you flying through rings for most of the game too.
I could go on for days explaining just how badly they messed up with this, but the simplest way to put it is: the game is poorly designed by unintelligent people and tested by people who have less than 1000 hours of gaming experience combined. It's a complete and epic fail and you should save your money. There are plenty of games that are better and more enjoyable than this at a fraction of the price.
After this disaster, they would be better of never making another Zelda game ever again. They already ditched most of the concepts that made the original games fun. Might as well come up with a different IP to tack this bad game design onto rather than ruining the legacy of some of the best games in existence.
