This movie tries doing a lot without really doing anything. I love some of Snyders movies but this was just a lot of things happening way too fast for anyone to keep up with and make sense of. The story beats are very close to each other and doesn’t give us enough time to understand and soak in what happens. The story lacks any REAL emotional value or motivation. The story goes on because it has to, nothing pushes it forward. The characters are very shallow and have nothing To offer other than a few fancy moments of looking cool. Like why do any of the fighters agree to join? Because they don’t like the motherworld? That is motivation sure, but not enough to make you invested in the characters at all or give them any depth. The characters barely interact with each other and mostly stand around cause they’re there. The fight sequences are mid to say the most. That’s not to say it doesn’t look beautiful, the visuals are quite impressive, even though they lack at times. Cinematography is real good, and that’s the single best thing about the movie.
