Abel and Sam's wet dream is unsurprisingly boring. The direction is lackluster and the writing is incoherent and inauthentic. The show lacks self-awareness and a compelling story. I don't know who let Abel and Sam make a show like this when really it's just a monotonous glorified porno with pretty cinematography, no chemistry between characters, and cringey dialogue. They tried too hard to be "shocking" but seeing conventionally attractive, hairless skinny women naked and doing drugs is not shocking but derivative and so common in media that it truly is unoriginal at this point. Abel's acting is horrendous. His character lacks mystique and sexual appeal; it's jarring that the main protagonist or any woman with a prefrontal cortex and social status would want a creepy dude like this in her life. They seem to only be together because of the script told them they are attracted to each other. Lily tried to act unrepulsed by him but even her acting couldn't hide how little sexual chemistry they had with one another. As a man, even I could tell this was directed by a guy with a porn addiction just by the first few scenes of the show. All in all, just blatantly a soulless, unremarkable show with terrible direction. I was yawning by the first episode.
