Honestly, the film isn't so bad.

'Laxmii' is a completely dishonest, disloyal and disheartening remake of the Tamil film 'Kanchana'. I like Akshay Kumar Sir's works, but he has disappointed here greatly. He did not make use of his versatility here, which is very unfortunate. The other actors, who never disappoint, have failed to meet expectations here. They have done a lot of over-acting here, to be honest, which was unusual and heartbreaking as well. Only Sharad Kelkar Sir has done his part well, and I could tolerate it only because of him. The storyline was irregular, and it lacked the charm which 'Kanchana' had. I really wonder how director Raghava Lawrence even approved of directing a film that completely changed the strong story which he had written and showed in his original Tamil film. The film tried to make changes in order not to make it seem exactly like 'Kanchana', but these changes only made it worse. Had they not made these changes, the film would have been slightly more watchable. The comedy was so stretched and forceful. You can only give a fake smile for it. Laughing at such a comedy is nearly impossible. The most nonsensical aspect of this film is its depiction of the transgender community. The constant clapping and the loudness shown in this film is so untrue. I am heartbroken and devastated to see them being shown in such a wild and stupid manner. The song 'Bumbumbole' is the worst song I've ever seen in my entire life. 'Kanchana' didn't show the community like this. It was a little more respectful towards them. 'Laxmii' took away all that respect from them. To whoever's reading this review of mine, I'd just ask him/her to watch this film at his/her own risk. It is not worth it. Watch 'Kanchana' only. It is so much better. And its dubbed version is available on YouTube. Please don't watch 'Laxmii'. This is not how the transgender community is. I don't want to give it any stars, but I'll give just one because of Sharad Kelkar and the good message which the film only tried to bring out.
