Dark, heavy going and brutal in places, but so powerful. Best Australian film I've seen in years. Leah Purcell is incredible. Oh, and if you were expecting just a 'fleshed-out' version of Henry Lawson's famous short story, then you're in for a shock. The bare bones are there, but that's all ... Leah Purcell has done a remarkable job in transforming the story into something much more impactful and thought-provoking. 5 stars.
