I think a lot of people aren't really taking this for what it's meant to be. No, it's not here to be perfectly representative (in fact, it's not really supposed to be at all), not cutting edge, not deeply profound or even good. The intention is a shitty romcom, the humor is tounge in cheek, it makes fun of itself and the white, cis, gay community on purpose. It's stupid. It's good at being stupid. It's *goal* is to be stupid, cheesy, cliché, and ridiculous because there hasn't been a rom com that was both gay and cliché So, if you want a silly flic to laugh at with some feel good moments that happens to be a little h0rny this is for you. If you're looking for something intense and representative of the entire gay community, no. It's probably not for you. It's one story, not everyone's story.
