This is an excellent story that needed to be told; it was worth the wait! I understand why Kristin Hannah needed time to grow as an author because this time period is so complicated and misunderstood. As a woman who lived during this period.. (high school grad of 1966) ..I felt like I was there with Frankie in California, in Nam and with her during her disappointment of coming home to an ungrateful nation. It brought back a lot of memories for me, not as a nurse, but as a history teacher trying to talk about the “why” of Viet Nam while living in a military town. Congratulations ! Thank you, Kristin for your service… yes, service to American women…🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
