The first movie in the trilogy was alright, it had a good storyline, likable characters, it had its humor at times but the action sequences were bound to get your heart racing. It was different than most other slasher films, but I had personally wished there was more thought put into writing it.
The sequel was miles better, a script that had actually made sense. It felt completely original and not just some Friday the 13th knock-off. It was a film pretty unique all on its own, I appreciated the gore, the writing. Although I knew only one main protagonist would survive, I continued rooting for the rest. Some people said it's slow-paced at first, but I think it was necessary to build the setting and that 80's Americana vibe you could never get bored of.
In the middle of watching the third, I never thought I'd root for a satanic witch hellbent on murdering generations of townspeople. I have to say, this is now my favorite film trilogy. Fun as hell.
