This movie barely scores 4 stars as a superhero film but 5 stars for humor. The amount of self deprecating humor had me seriously convinced I was watching a blooper reel, and don’t get me wrong I laughed hysterically. But here’s the thing…Marvel has officially gone overboard with the humor. Go watch the first Iron Man and you’ll see just how far they’ve gone on the humor train. As someone who was (and still is) raised on comic books, I have a hard time when films feel like the general tone of comic books isn’t entertaining enough. Now that I got that soap box out of the way, let me say I loved all the OGs they brought back for this film. When Garfield caught Zendaya, I nearly cried. McGuire looked like he hasn’t aged a day. The general plot was confusing at times but overall a great tribute to the Spidey multiverse.
