As a life long Star Wars fan I can see what they were trying to do with this film. It is unfortunate we didn't get one clear vision from the beginning as JJ had a lot to cram into this one film, whereas I feel if he had control over all 3 we would have had a more connected and overall better trilogy.
There is plenty of good moments in the film which feel like it could have led to more, given time, but unfortunately,, this had to wrap everything up leading to what feels like a rushed and junky final product.
